Home Christmas Lights Built for Memorial
Residential Christmas lights in Memorial have to work with an unusual mix of houses. A long, low 1960s ranch with a flat or low-slope roof can sit beside a new two-story with steep gables, a standing-seam metal porch roof and a stone entry. In Memorial Bend, known for its mid-century modern homes, one crisp line of warm white along the fascia often says more than a full color show, because the architecture is the point. On a taller new build, we outline the gables, ridges and dormers so the house holds its shape against a dark wall of pines.
The trees carry the other half of the design. Memorial lots are known for tall loblolly pines, wide live oaks and water oaks, and Southern magnolias planted close to the house. Pines, often bare for the first 20 or 30 feet, get trunk wraps that read as glowing columns from down the street. Oaks get trunk and limb wraps that follow the branch structure. Magnolias hold mini lights well in their thick, glossy leaves, and the crepe myrtles along the drive can take a color if the kids want to choose one. Boxwoods and hollies by the entry get net or mini lights so the front walk glows too.

Residential Christmas Light Installation in Memorial
We begin with your house, not a template. At your free design consult, on site or from photos, we note roof pitch and material, gutter type, where the exterior outlets are and which trees and windows face the street. You get a written plan showing where every line goes, from the eaves to the front walk, and which bulb size and color goes on each surface. For the entry, we can add garland, a lit wreath and soft lights on the planters that frame the front door.
Install day is set on a date we confirm with you, in booking order, and nobody has to be home that day if the crew can get to the outdoor outlets and side gates. Walks and beds are left as tidy as we found them, and timers come set to your family's evenings. Our residential Christmas lights hub explains the full process for homes across Houston. Hosting the neighbors in December? Add event lighting in Memorial for the night of your party, with market lights strung across the patio and amber uplights on the trees out back.

Designing Residential Christmas Lights for a Memorial Home
A few design choices decide how your home reads from the street once the sun goes down, and they are easier to settle before the consult. Here is how we think through white color temperature, tree selection, second-story coverage and backyard views on the kinds of houses and lots found across Memorial.
Pick a white that suits your brick or siding
Warm white, around 2700K to 3000K, flatters the red and tan brick on Memorial's 1950s and 1960s ranches and the painted brick on many rebuilds. Cool or pure white reads crisp against dark siding, black window frames and modern stucco, but can look blue on warm brick. If we meet on site, ask to see one strand of each held against your wall at dusk before you decide.
Light the trees the street can actually see
Deep Memorial lots often have more trees than any display needs. Stand at the curb after dark and pick the one or two that frame the house, usually a front oak or a magnolia near the drive. A pine set farther back, wrapped partway up its trunk, adds depth behind the roofline. Trees hidden by a fence or a neighbor's canopy rarely repay the effort, so leave them dark and put the budget where it shows.
Decide how much of the second story to light
On a new two-story, outlining only the first-floor eaves can leave the upper half of the house dark against the sky. Lighting the upper eaves and gables takes taller ladders and more wire, so it changes the quote. A middle path works well on many Memorial streets: outline the top roofline and main gable, then let wrapped trunks and lit shrubs fill in at ground level. Send a street-side photo and we can sketch both options.
Plan for the back patio and pool view
Many Memorial homes face their living rooms and patios toward the backyard, and some lots run down toward Buffalo Bayou. If your family spends December evenings at the back of the house, consider lighting a rear oak, the pergola or the pool fence along with the front display. Back zones usually need their own timer and a cord route from a patio outlet, so mention them at the consult rather than adding them after install.
