Christmas Light Installation: gables and garage traced with C9 Christmas lights

Christmas Light Installers for Memorial Homes

Christmas light installation in Memorial starts with the trees, because most lots between the Katy Freeway and Buffalo Bayou sit under loblolly pines and water oaks that shade the roof and fill the gutters. As your Christmas light hanging service, Glacier measures each roof run, sketches a layout around the house and trees, supplies every C9, C7 and mini light in commercial-grade LED, and installs with its own crew. Pines drop a heavy layer of needles in October and November, right as install season opens, so we clip lines to the shingle edge, the fascia or a solid outer gutter lip, never inside the trough where needles collect.

Timing matters as much as the design. Most Memorial households want the lights on by Thanksgiving weekend, so we hold design consults in September and October, on site or from photos, and installs run from early November in booking order, whether your home is in Frostwood, Memorial Bend, Nottingham Forest, Wilchester or Thornwood. Under a dense pine canopy, a dusk sensor can switch lights on in mid-afternoon on a cloudy day, so each zone gets an astronomical timer that follows sunset by date. Pick the off time once, and the display runs on its own through New Year's.

What Every Memorial Install Includes

Every Memorial install uses commercial-grade LED wire cut to the exact length of each roof run, so no spare plugs dangle at the corners. C9 bulbs on 12-inch spacing outline the street-facing eaves, gables and ridgelines, while C7s suit the lower eaves of single-story ranches and porches seen up close. Mini lights spiral up live oak and water oak trunks to the first big limb, spaced tightly enough to read as a solid glow from the curb. Entry garland and lit wreaths finish the front door, and every zone plugs into an existing outdoor GFCI outlet on its own timer.

If a strand fails after a north wind or a heavy rain, call us and we schedule an in-season service visit to repair it. In January the crew takes down every light, clip and cord, checks shingles and trim as it works, then tests, labels and stores each run by section of the house, so the same custom-cut runs go back up next fall. It is the same done-for-you process behind our Christmas light installation service throughout Houston. Deciding between a crisp mid-century look and a full two-story outline? Our residential Christmas lights in Memorial page walks through design ideas for ranches, new builds and big-tree lots.

Memorial Install Planning

Planning Christmas Light Installation in Memorial

Four things to settle before our crew pulls up: where your outdoor power is, which roof sections are flat, what is happening on the lot next door and which photos to send. Sorting them out before the consult lets us price the right run lengths and ladder positions instead of adjusting on install day.

01

List your outdoor outlets before the consult

On older Memorial ranches, outdoor outlets are often limited to the back patio and the carport, far from the street-facing roofline. On rebuilt two-stories, eave outlets are common and often run off a switch in the garage or by the front door. Walk the house, note every exterior outlet, and push the test button on each GFCI outlet, then reset it, so you know it trips and comes back. If you know which outlets share a breaker, tell us. We plan cord runs from these existing outlets, so a clear list lets us place timers and spread the load.

02

Warn us about construction next door

Teardowns and new builds are common on Memorial streets, and a dumpster, a portable toilet or a row of work trucks can block the ladder positions and the curb where our truck parks. If a neighbor's project is underway, tell us when you book and send a photo of the street. We can plan ladder access from another side of the house or work around the builder's delivery days, so the project next door does not hold up your lights.

03

Point out flat or low-slope roof sections

Many mid-century homes in Memorial Bend and nearby streets have flat or low-slope sections over the living room, carport or a later addition, often finished in membrane or rolled roofing. We do not clip onto those surfaces. Instead, the line runs along the fascia edge on fascia clips set from a ladder. Point out flat sections in your photos and mention skylights, roof vents or rooftop equipment, since they change where a line can run.

04

Send photos that show the whole roofline

For a quote from photos, shoot at midday from across the street, far enough back to fit the full front roofline in one frame. Under heavy pine and oak cover the roofline is often hidden from across the street, so add one shot from the end of the driveway looking up at the eaves. Include each side the street can see, a close-up of the gutter edge or fascia, and any tree you want wrapped with someone standing at the trunk for scale. Note the roof material and the number of stories.

Memorial Christmas Light Installation FAQ

+How much does Christmas light installation cost in Memorial?
The price depends on measurable things: linear feet of roofline, one story or two, roof pitch, the count and size of trees to light, and extras such as garland, wreaths or holiday pathway markers. A Memorial ranch with one lit oak prices very differently from a two-story with gables and a row of pines. Request a free custom quote for your address, and our Houston installation cost guide lays out typical industry ranges.
+When should I book holiday light installation in Memorial?
Book in September or October. Consult dates are wide open then, and the install calendar opens in early November, with Thanksgiving weekend as the lit-by date. Later requests can still work, but open dates narrow as November goes on. Booking early also leaves time to clean gutters, test outlets and settle any questions with your civic association before the crew arrives.
+Do Christmas light installers in Memorial nail into the roof?
No. No nails, screws or staples go into shingles, fascia or trim. Lines attach with plastic clips sized for the surface: shingle-tab clips on composition roofs, gutter-lip clips on a clean, solid outer gutter edge, clips that fit over gutter guards, ridge clips along the peak and fascia clips where there is no shingle edge to grip. In January the clips come off cleanly, leaving nothing in the shingles or trim.
+Do you install Christmas lights in Bunker Hill Village too?
Yes. Bunker Hill Village, one of the Memorial Villages, is part of our service area, and our page on Christmas light installation in Bunker Hill Village covers the details. The villages are separate cities and may have their own rules on contractor hours and street parking, so share your address and check with your village before install day. Homes on either side of the village line get the same design consult, materials and January takedown.
+How long does Christmas light installation take on a Memorial home?
A single-story Memorial home with a lit front oak typically takes a few hours, while a two-story with gables, wrapped pines and entry garland can take most of a day. Steep pitches, tall trunk wraps and long cord runs from a back-patio outlet add time. We confirm an arrival window when your date is set, and the crew tests every zone before it leaves the property.
