Who Is Glacier Lights?
Glacier Lights is a Houston-based Christmas light installation company built for homeowners who want their property to look crisp and finished in December without spending a single afternoon on a ladder. We design, install, maintain, remove and store custom holiday lighting for residences, communities and businesses across Greater Houston.
Our name says what we care about: lighting that looks crisp, clean and bright. Straight runs, sharp corners, evenly spaced bulbs, no stray cords and no sagging strands. We offer Christmas light installation with C9 and C7 roofline lighting, mini lights, tree and trunk wraps, shrub lighting, garland and wreaths, plus permanent app-controlled lighting and event and wedding lighting.

From First Photo to January Storage
Every Glacier project follows the same five steps, whether it is a single-story ranch home in Katy or a gated estate in Memorial. Nothing is vague: you know what is being lit, with which bulbs, when it goes up and when it comes down.
Free Design Consult, On Site or From Photos
Call or text (281) 549-0929, email getglacierlights@gmail.com or send the quote form with your address. We talk through the look you want, the trees and features to light, where your outdoor outlets are and any deed restriction or HOA guidelines. Many homes can be designed from a few good photos; larger or more complex properties may get an on-site visit.
Written Design & Itemized Quote
You receive a written plan listing every lit element with its bulb type and color: C9s on the roofline, C7s on smaller eaves and windows, mini lights on trunks and shrubs, plus garland, wreaths and timers. The quote is custom to your property and itemized, so you can add or trim elements before you book a date.
Install Day in November
Installs run from early November. The crew confirms the plan, measures and cuts each run, clips it with hardware matched to your roof, wraps trees, routes cords out of sight and sets timers. Before leaving, we run the display through a test cycle and show you where the timer’s manual override is.
In-Season Service Calls
Through December, if a section goes dark, a timer drifts or a cold front loosens a strand, call and we schedule a service visit. Note which section went dark and when, for example after a hard rain or a power outage, which tells the crew where to start.
January Takedown & Storage
After New Year’s, we unclip every run, check roof edges, gutters and beds for stray clips, coil and label each strand by roofline or tree, and store it until next season. Because the runs are already cut to your house, next fall’s install starts from a measured, labeled kit instead of a fresh guess.
How a Glacier Display Goes Up
These are the standards every seasonal install follows, on a cottage or an estate. They keep a display straight through December wind, keep connections lifted off wet soil and cords out of walkways, and stay gentle on the roofs, gutters, brick and trees it touches, so the house looks the same after takedown as it did before install.
Commercial-Grade LED Materials
Rooflines get commercial-grade LED C9 or C7 bulbs on spool wire cut to the exact length of each run, so there is no coiled slack at the ends. Bulbs within one display share a single color temperature, so warm white stays the same warm white from the garage to the front gable. Trees and shrubs get LED mini lights. LEDs run far cooler than incandescent bulbs and draw a fraction of the power of incandescent sets, which keeps loads low on existing outlets.
Clips, Never Nails
All-in-one clips hook gutter lips or slide under the edge of the first shingle course, ridge clips hold lines along the cap, and tile clips grip clay and concrete tile without drilling. Clip spacing follows bulb spacing, so every bulb sits upright and in line. Seasonal lights are never nailed, screwed or stapled into roofing, fascia, trim, brick mortar or stucco, and trees get soft ties that come off cleanly in January. Permanent lighting is the one exception, since its track is fastened to the fascia or soffit by design, and we explain that before you choose it.
Power, Timers & Hidden Cord Runs
We plan power and cord runs from your existing outdoor outlets, plugging into GFCI-protected outlets with each connection lifted off the ground and covered. Cords follow gutters, downspouts, bed edges and the backs of shrubs rather than crossing lawns, and a cord that has to cross a path goes under a flat cord cover. Timers or photocells bring the display on at dusk, around 5:20 p.m. in a Houston December, and off at a set hour such as 11 p.m. We do not modify electrical systems; if an outlet is missing where one is needed, your electrician can add it before install day.
Ladder & Roof Safety
Ladders sit on level footing at a 4-to-1 angle, one foot out for every four feet up, with standoffs so they never rest on gutters. Crews keep three points of contact on the ladder, stay off tile and slate wherever a ladder can reach the edge, and do not climb wet or windy roofs. If a cold front blows through on install day, we reschedule rather than rush.

Start With Two Photos
Send a straight-on photo of your house and a close-up of the roof edge, and we will reply with a design and a written quote. September and October bookings get first pick of November dates.
Making Every Houston Holiday Brighter & Easier
Our mission is simple: a Houston holiday display that looks measured, not improvised, from a crew that handles every ladder, clip and cord so you never do. That means commercial-grade LED C9s cut to your rooflines, clips matched to shingle, tile or metal, and timers set to a Houston sunset, from the first photo to the labeled box in storage.
Where We Work Across Greater Houston
Glacier is based in Houston and serves 19 communities: River Oaks, the Heights and West U inside the Loop; Tanglewood and Bellaire just outside it; Memorial plus Piney Point, Hunters Creek and Bunker Hill Villages to the west; The Woodlands, Spring and Conroe to the north; Kingwood to the northeast; Cypress to the northwest; Katy and Fulshear farther west; Sugar Land to the southwest; Pearland to the south; and League City to the southeast. Pick yours for local details.
What You Can Count On
Planned for Local Roofs & Weather
Plans account for clay tile on Mediterranean homes, standing-seam metal on new farmhouses, tall live oaks over the drive and the December fronts that test every clip.
Booked by Fall, Lit by Thanksgiving
Book in September or October, install from early November, lit by Thanksgiving weekend, then takedown and labeled storage in January.
What You Approve Is What Goes Up
The crew installs the written plan you approved. If something on site calls for a change, such as a missing outlet or a limb out of reach, we talk it through with you first.
