Christmas Light Installation: turret and gables outlined in red and white Christmas lights

Holiday Light Installation in Bunker Hill Village

Christmas light installation in Bunker Hill Village has to account for the canopy before it accounts for the roof. Streets here run under tall loblolly pines and broad live oaks, and many homes sit well back from Bunker Hill Road and Taylorcrest Road, so a roofline that looks obvious on a survey can vanish behind branches after dark. Every design consult starts with the view from the curb and the end of the drive, in person or from photos you take there. We note which eaves, gables and trunks actually read from the street, then put the light there.

Our Christmas light installers treat every roofline as a custom fit. Each roof edge is measured, and commercial-grade SPT wire with sockets every 12 inches is cut to length on site and fitted with new plugs, so every run ends at the corner instead of bunching spare bulbs or stopping short. All-in-one clips grip the gutter lip or slide under a shingle edge, ridge-cap clips hold lines straight along the peaks, and tile hooks protect clay or concrete tile. Nothing is nailed, screwed or stapled into the house, and cords are tucked behind downspouts and along bed edges.

  • ✓ Curb-view design for set-back homes
  • ✓ SPT wire cut to length, 12-inch spacing
  • ✓ Clips matched to gutter, shingle or tile
  • ✓ Nothing nailed, screwed or stapled

Your Bunker Hill Install Season, Start to Finish

The season follows a simple rhythm. Once your design is approved, installs begin in early November, and booked homes are lit by Thanksgiving weekend. Through December, in-season service is included: if the north wind behind a cold front lifts a ridge line or a squirrel in the pines chews through a wire, we send a crew back to repair it. In January the crew takes everything down, checks each strand for cracked sockets and worn clips, and leaves gutters and beds clear. Then the custom-cut runs made for your house go into off-season storage until next fall, ready to go back on the same rooflines.

This page shows how our full Christmas light installation service works in the village. If you would rather skip the yearly hanging altogether, permanent lights in Bunker Hill Village mount once under the eaves and switch on from an app. On install day we work with whoever manages the house, whether that is you, a housekeeper or a property manager. If the house is on a vacation watch with the Memorial Villages Police Department, give them the install date, and we can share our crew schedule with your alarm company, so a ladder crew raises no questions. Trucks stay out of the school traffic around Bunker Hill Elementary on Taylorcrest.

Install Season Planner

Before Your Bunker Hill Village Christmas Light Installation

A smooth install day depends on a few things only you know about the house: where the outdoor outlets are, what has changed on the roof, when you want the lights to come on and how January will look for your family. These four steps take about an hour on a fall weekend and let our crew plan power, clips and scheduling ahead of time.

01

Photograph Every Outdoor Outlet

Start at the front door and circle the house, marking each exterior outlet on a phone photo: porch, garage front, side yard, gate pillar and any hidden behind pine-straw beds or shrubs. With a side-load or rear-entry garage, the outlet nearest the street-facing eaves may be around a corner or across the drive, which changes how cords are routed and hidden, so frame each photo with the facade behind it. Note any porch outlet on a wall switch. We plan power and cord runs from existing outdoor outlets, so these photos show us what the house already has.

02

Choose a Lights-On Night, Not Just an Install Day

Installs run from early November, but the display does not have to glow that evening. The timer can stay dark until the night you pick, whether that is Thanksgiving, the Friday after or the first of December, so the reveal feels like an occasion. A photocell turns the lights on at dusk and the timer handles the off time. Choose an hour that fits your household, such as 11 pm or midnight, so the lights carry through evening visits without shining into upstairs bedrooms all night.

03

Flag Solar Panels, New Roofs and Fresh Paint

Tell us about anything new on the exterior. Clips never attach to solar panels or their rails, so an array on the front slope changes where a roofline can run. On a newly replaced roof, the shingle tabs are still bonding along their seal strips and the roof carries a manufacturer warranty, so we keep clips to the gutter lip and drip edge instead of lifting any tabs. Fresh trim paint needs a few weeks to cure before anything clips to it. If your builder or painter is still working in November, send us their finish date.

04

Plan Your January Before It Arrives

Takedown happens in January, so think ahead now. If you travel over New Year's, tell us which days the house is empty and keep the gate code active until takedown is done. If you want wreaths or garland left up until a particular date, such as Epiphany on January 6, say so when you book. If you store any decorations of your own, keep them on a garage shelf rather than in the attic, where Houston summer heat is hard on plastic sockets and wire insulation.

Bunker Hill Village Christmas Light Installation FAQ

+How much does Christmas light installation cost in Bunker Hill Village?
Every quote is custom, because the main cost drivers change from lot to lot: total feet of roofline, how many stories and how steep the pitch, how many trunks are wrapped and how high, and any garland, wreaths or pathway lights. A deep lot with long cord runs from the outlets adds labor too. After a free design consult, on site or from photos, you receive a written quote. Our Houston installation cost guide breaks down typical industry ranges.
+When should I book a Christmas light hanging service in Bunker Hill Village?
September or October is the ideal window. Booking then leaves time to approve a design and gives you the widest choice of install days once installs begin in early November. Install days closest to Thanksgiving are the most requested across Houston, since most homeowners want to be lit for that weekend. A November request is still worth making; we schedule it as openings allow, and your lights can still shine for most of December.
+Do I need village or HOA approval for Christmas lights in Bunker Hill Village?
Seasonal lights are temporary, but rules are set locally, so it pays to check. Bunker Hill Village is its own city with its own codes, and many streets also carry deed restrictions or association guidelines that may mention holiday decor, signage or how long displays stay up. Read your deed restrictions, ask your association if you have one, and contact the city if your plan includes anything unusual. We can provide a written design to share with your association.
+What if part of my display goes dark in December?
Call us, or email a night photo of the dark section, and we book a service visit. Service calls through December come with every install, and you do not need to be home if the crew can reach the outlets and the gate. Before you call, check two things: whether a landscaper's edger or blower knocked a plug loose along the beds, and whether that outlet's GFCI tripped after rain. A reset often brings the run back the same evening.
+Can you install Christmas lights in Hunters Creek Village as well?
Yes. Hunters Creek is a neighboring Memorial Village with the same mix of wooded lots and large custom homes, and our Christmas light installation in Hunters Creek Village follows the same steps: free design consult, custom-cut install, in-season service and January takedown. When neighbors on nearby streets in either village book together, we can often schedule the homes back to back so a whole street lights up together.
