Permanent Holiday Lighting for Spring Homes
Permanent Christmas lights in Spring solve a problem seasonal strands never fully escape: the trees. On lots shaded by loblolly pines and water oaks, gutters fill with needles, leaves and sweetgum balls all season, and anyone cleaning them mid-December has to work around clipped strands. Glacier instead mounts a low-profile track under the soffit edge, finished to blend with your trim so it is hard to spot in daylight, and fills it with individually addressable RGBW LEDs. The lights sit beneath the eave, clear of the gutter and its debris, and every color and scene runs from a phone app.
The year-round use is the bigger reason to consider it. A soft warm white at dusk adds curb appeal and makes a dark, tree-lined street feel safer when you pull in after a late practice or a commute up I-45. In October the roofline can glow orange for Halloween, in December it turns red and green or crisp icy white, and on game nights it can show Astros or Texans colors. Birthdays and the Fourth of July each get a scene. Effects range from a slow color fade to a chase, and the whole calendar can be scheduled ahead in the app.

How Permanent Lights Go Up in Spring
A permanent install starts with a free consult, on site or from photos, where we decide coverage together: the front elevation only, the full perimeter, or the front plus a back patio you use for entertaining. The crew checks how the soffit is built and where the power supply and controller can plug in, using an existing garage outlet your Wi-Fi reaches. On install day the track is fastened along the soffit edge, each run is connected back to the controller, every LED is tested in every color and the system joins your network before we walk you through the app.
Read how the system works and how it compares with seasonal strands on our permanent Christmas lights page. Not ready to commit this year? Start with traditional Christmas light installation in Spring and see how your house looks lit before choosing a year-round system. You can also combine the two: on a Spring lot, keep the permanent roofline and add seasonal trunk wraps on the front pines and oaks, plus garland at the entry, each December. Because the roofline is already handled, the seasonal add-on becomes a smaller job, which lets the crew spend its time on the entry and the trees.

Before You Add Permanent Lights to a Spring Home
Permanent lighting is a long-term part of the house, and the choices made before install day shape how it looks for years. These four cover what to settle first in Spring: the track finish, the everyday white, the timing of any roof and gutter work, and the school-year scenes many families want beyond December.
Match the track finish to gutters and fascia
The track mounts at the soffit edge, so it should disappear into the trim, not the wall. Many 1980s and 1990s brick homes in Spring have brown or bronze gutters and aluminum fascia wrap, newer farmhouse builds lean on white or black trim, and painted wood fascia can be almost any color. Photograph your fascia and gutters up close in daylight, and we match the closest available track finish. If you plan to repaint the trim soon, do it before install day.
Choose an everyday white that suits your porch lights
RGBW systems include a dedicated white diode, so the everyday setting is a true white rather than red, green and blue blended into a bluish tint. That white diode has a fixed color temperature, so ask which one the system uses; a warm white near 3000K sits closest to the coach lights and porch fixtures on most brick traditionals, and the app can tint it a little warmer by blending in red. A slightly dimmed level at dusk reads as accent light on a tree-lined street rather than a floodlit house.
Finish roof and gutter work first
March-to-May storms bring hail to north Harris County, and a roof or gutter replacement often follows a bad one. If a new roof, new gutters or gutter guards are on your list, schedule that work before the permanent track goes up, because roofers and gutter crews work right along the eave where the track mounts. Afterward, tell any contractor who comes to the house that the track is there so ladders and tear-off debris stay clear of it.
Program scenes for Klein and Spring ISD game nights
Much of Spring is served by Klein ISD and Spring ISD, and fall football Fridays, homecoming week and May graduations are when many families want the house in school colors. Build those scenes once in the app using your school's exact colors, save them to the calendar so they switch on for game nights and back to everyday white by morning, and check first that your deed restrictions allow color outside the holidays.
